Calgary will officially complete the first half of their 2018 regular-season schedule on Saturday with an afternoon affair against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The Stampeders look to rebound from the first loss of the season, a 40-27 defeat last Sunday in Regina, after rattling off seven straight victories to begin the year. Meanwhile, Winnipeg is also be looking to get back in the win column after the visiting Ottawa RedBlacks knocked off the Bombers by a score of 44-21 on Friday.
This week’s match-up features the CFL’s two highest-scoring teams as Winnipeg is averaging a league-best 32.1 points per game while Calgary is second at 29.1 points per contest. The clubs also share the league lead with 26 turnovers forced.
Heading into Week 11 action, Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell leads the CFL with a 109.2 QB rating while Winnipeg’s Andrew Harris tops the league with 792 rushing yards. Darvin Adams of the Blue Bombers and Kamar Jorden of the Stamps are in a tie for second in receiving touchdowns with five apiece.
This is the first of two regular-season meetings between the Stamps and Bombers as the Red and White will be in Winnipeg on Oct. 26.

It will be a great time for fans of all ages as the Stamps celebrate Family Day leading up to the contest against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Special guests in the Gridiron Gardens will include Snoopy, SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Michelangelo and Raphael of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Chase and Marshall from the PAW Patrol. The Family Channel stars Victoria Baldesarra and Milaina Robinson from The Next Step and Josh Bogert from Backstage.
The Gridiron Gardens will also feature face painters, inflatables, interactive games, food specials and more beginning at 11 a.m.
Diversity Is Strength
The Stampeders offer a special welcome to first-time football fans as part of the CFL’s Diversity is Strength campaign. A large group of new Canadians will be in the stands for the contest. They’ll be joined by Stamps alumnus John Helton, who is one of two players being honoured on the special Diversity is Strength T-shirts worn on Saturday by Stamps coaches and sideline personnel. Also in attendance will be Tamara Thurman, daughter of the late Herm Harrison, the other player being honoured by the Stamps.
Halftime:
The halftime show features Little Miss Outrider. Aspiring cheerleaders aged 5-15 will take to the field to perform a special routine with the Outriders.
