Over the weekend, the Stampeders held their annual Jr. Stamps Camp. A great group of kids took the field at McMahon Stadium as our rookie players, Coach Dickenson, president/general manager John Hufnagel and members of the Outriders were on hand to teach them new skills, run drills and have a BBQ.

The kids rotated through a number of stations and worked on conditioning, passing, receiving, kicking, tackling and much more. At the Outrider station, all of those future CFL prospects and Little Miss Outriders alike worked on fitness and flexibility, learned our famous Fire It Up cheer and even did a few high kicks!

I’ve been lucky to have been a part of this event for the last four years as it toured Alberta through Lethbridge, Drumheller, Red Deer and High River. It’s been wonderful to receive such a warm welcome from those communities and help spread our love for the Stampeders organization across Southern Alberta. However, spending this year at home in our stadium with our local fans and season-ticket holders was pretty darn special.

More than anything, Jr. Stamps Camp got us all excited for our pre-season game on June 6 as the Stampeders take on the BC Lions.
