Calgary Stampeders receiver DaVaris Daniels has been honoured as one of the Canadian Football League’s three players of the week as a result of his performance in Saturday’s 34-28 overtime victory over the Edmonton Eskimos.
Daniels had six receptions for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the win over the Eskimos. He also made a two-point conversion catch in overtime that allowed the Stamps to tie the game on the first overtime possession and go on to claim victory on the second possession.
It was the rookie’s second 100-yard performance in four games since making his CFL debut on Aug. 19 against the BC Lions. Daniels has 19 receptions for 344 yards and three touchdowns in those four games.
This is the fifth time this season a Stamps player has received player-of-the-week recognition from the league.
