Calgary Stampeders quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell has been honoured as one of the Canadian Football League’s three players of the week as a result of his performance in Friday’s 44-41 overtime victory over the BC Lions.

Mitchell was named the league’s top player of the week after completing 29 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns to help the Stamps move into first place in the West Division. Two of the touchdowns, as well as a completion for a game-tying two-point convert, came in the final three minutes of play as the Stamps erased a 15-point deficit and forced overtime.

The first of Mitchell’s scoring passes on the night – a 75-yarder to Greg Wilson – extended his franchise record of consecutive starts with a TD throw to 20. The 26-year-old Katy, Tex., native has recorded four consecutive 300-yard games and has 1,584 passing yards and 11 touchdowns for the season.

Mitchell is the second Stamps player this season to be honoured in the CFL’s weekly awards as running back Jerome Messam was recognized in Week 2.
