The Calgary Stampeders have signed international running backs Roy Finch and Reggie Whatley and international receiver DaVaris Daniels as free agents. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Reggie Whatley
College: Middle Tennessee State

Whatley played four seasons (2011-14) at Middle Tennessee State and in 48 games for the Blue Raiders he had 1,666 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns as well as 31 catches for 227 yards and one score. He led the team in rushing as a senior in 2014 with 767 yards as he averaged 6.8 yards per carry and scored seven touchdowns. His career average of 26.9 yards per kickoff return set a school record. He attended rookie camp with the National Football League’s Tennessee Titans in 2015.

Roy Finch

Finch played five games for the Ottawa RedBlacks in 2014 and had 24 carries for 95 yards and nine receptions for 54 yards. He signed with Ottawa after having attended training camp with the NFL’s New England Patriots earlier in the year. Finch played four seasons (2010-13) at Oklahoma and had 262 carries for 1,412 yards and six touchdowns and 58 catches for 442 yards and two scores. Finch also saw action on special teams for the Sooners and returned 43 kickoffs for 1,099 yards and one touchdown. The return TD was a 100-yarder and came on the opening kickoff of a 2012 game against Kansas.

DaVaris Daniels
College: Notre Dame

Born: Dec. 18, 1992

Daniels attended training camp with the Minnesota Vikings in 2015 and also spent time with the New England Patriots. He attended the Philadelphia Eagles’ mini-camp in 2016. Daniels played three seasons (2011-13) at Notre Dame. In 2013, he was second on the Fighting Irish with 46 receptions for 720 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2012, he played in 11 games and made three starts while making 31 catches for 490 yards and had six catches for 115 yards in the national championship game against Alabama.
