Garry Williams played his first CFL on July 18, 2015, at home against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He started 14 games, seeing action at both right and left tackle.

Prior to joining the CFL, Williams signed with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers and was the only undrafted rookie to make the active roster following training camp.

He spent six seasons (2009-2014) with the NFL’s Carolina Panthers where he played 41 games and made 21 starts.

The community communications and leadership development major was a three-year starter at Kentucky, playing a total of 45 games over four years. He was named the Wildcats’ top offensive lineman as a senior in 2008 after allowing only one sack the entire season.

Williams graduated from Seneca High School in Louisville, Ky., where he played defensive tackle as a freshman before switching to offensive tackle. The Red Hawks made the playoffs every year that Williams played. His senior year the team ranked first in the state for the first time in school history.

Williams also competed in track and field at Seneca, and was ranked second in the state in shot put in 2003.

The teammate who can always make me laugh is . . . Bo Levi. He’s just a big kid, man. He’s always telling jokes.

The smartest person in our locker room is . . . Jeff Hecht. He’s just a smart type of dude and it’s always interesting having conversations with him.

When I order take-out food or delivery, my go-to meal is . . . chicken wings. Doesn’t matter where from.

If I was in the music industry, my job would be . . . the bodyguard. The guy protecting the big star.

If I was commissioner for a day, the first thing I would do is . . . relax. Take a vacation.

The first car I ever owned was . . . a Toyota Corolla. It was an 80-something, I can’t remember the exact year. It was in good shape — Dad took real good care of it.

If company is coming for dinner and I want to make an impression, the menu will feature . . . steak, baked beans, broccoli, macaroni and cheese, rolls and pecan pie.

The non-football skill I would most like to master is . . . cooking.

Without a doubt, the person who would play me in a movie is . . . Faizon Love .

If I won the mega-jackpot in the lottery, I would . . . retire.

The historical figure I would love to have a conversation with is . . .  Malcolm X. I would just want to know the mindset for him to do the things he did.

The reality show I’d love to be on is . . . Duck Dynasty. I’m not a hunter, I just love the show.
