Howsare signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Feb. 28, 2018, and played four seasons for the club. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the National Football League’s New York Jets on May 7, 2015. Howsare spent time on the Jets’ practice squad in 2015 and 2016 and dressed for two games in 2016. He was signed to the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad on Oct. 11, 2016, and released on Nov. 1, 2016. Howsare re-signed with the Jets on Jan. 11, 2017.
2022
(Hamilton) Howsare played and started 16 regular-season games for the Ticats as he was named an East Division all-star at defensive end. He shared the team lead with seven sacks and also recorded 30 defensive tackles including two tackles for loss, one special-teams stop, two interceptions and one knockdown. The interceptions – in Week 7 against BC and in Week 19 against Calgary – were the first two of his CFL career and he returned them for a total of 53 yards. Howsare had two sacks in Week 8 against Montreal. He started the Eastern Semi-Final and made seven tackles and also picked up a sack.
2021
(Hamilton) Howsare played and started 13 games for the Ticats. He recorded a career high with 34 tackles and also had two tackles for loss, five sacks one knockdown. Howsare established a personal single-game best with nine tackles in a Week 5 game against Toronto and had a pair sacks against Ottawa in Week 12. He was a post-season standout as in three games he had 12 tackles including one tackle for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery returned for 45 yards.
2020
(Hamilton) Howsare was under contract with the Ticats but the season was cancelled because of the global pandemic.
2019
(Hamilton) Howsare played all 18 regular-season games and made 10 starts, accumulating 22 defensive tackles including three tackles for loss, four special-teams stops and six sacks. He had a two-sack game in Week 16 against Winnipeg. In the Eastern final, Howsare had five tackles and one sack in the Ticats’ victory over Edmonton. He was also in uniform for the Grey Cup and had one tackle.
2018
(Hamilton) In his first CFL season, Howsare played 15 regular-season games including seven starts. He recorded 26 defensive tackles including three tackles for loss, three sacks, one forced fumble and one knockdown. Howsare made his debut in Week 1 at Calgary’s McMahon Stadium and recorded a sack. In Week 6 against Saskatchewan, he had a season-high six tackles. Howsare was also in uniform for both of the Tiger-Cats’ post-season games and had one knockdown.

College
Howsare played 43 games over four years (2011-14) at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. During his career with the Golden Eagles, he accumulated 256 tackles including 47.5 tackles for loss, 33 sacks, nine forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three interceptions. Howsare was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-West defensive player of the year in both 2013 and 2014. He was a third-team all-American in 2012 and 2013 and a second-team all-American in 2012.
Personal
Howsare was a first-team all-conference and all-region all-star at Altoona Area High School. He played running back, linebacker and defensive end for the Mountain Lions.
