With temperatures rising to the high 20s this week, the weather in Calgary has taken a turn for the better just in time for the Stampeders Fan Fest which is right around the corner.
The free event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, but fans are encouraged to come by early for the pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. courtesy of the Calgary Grey Cup Committee.
The team welcomes fans of all ages to get down to McMahon Stadium for the unveiling of the official 2025 Calgary Stampeders.
General manager and head coach Dave Dickenson says it’s important for the team to get involved with the community.
“I think we do the right thing having it,” Dickenson explained. “I think every team needs to be ingrained in the fabric of the city and community and I feel the CFL is the best at it, I really do.
“I think the guys seem like they fit in, they are normal (guys), they want to meet people. They want to find out what Canada is about, what Calgary is about and Calgarians are very generous people and support us.
“It will be great, I think we’re supposed to have good weather. So let’s cross our fingers with Calgary weather, no one knows what that is going to be but if it’s a nice day get the guys out and that will be our team.”
Kickoff the season at McMahon Stadium with live entertainment, interactive inflatables, face painting, games, giveaways, and so much more!
The Outriders and the Hype Team will also be roaming the field to greet fans throughout the event and you can meet the current players of the Calgary Stampeders and interact with several of the storied Stamps Alumni!
