Major Milestone Reached For Mace’s Turkey Drive

The ninth annual Corey Mace Turkey Drive accomplished an all-time high this holiday season.

Thanks to the outstanding support of Calgarians, this year’s event generated $40,494 or the equivalent of 2,030 turkeys. This figure includes a $5,000 donation from the Stampeders Foundation.

“I am so incredibly proud of this city for digging deep and holding firm to support one another,” said Mace, the team’s defensive line coach since 2016. “My family and I are extremely grateful for your love and generosity to help serve the community.”

In addition to the return of an in-person turkey collection, an online fundraiser was conducted and exclusive auction prizes were up for grabs.

Mace started his turkey drive in 2013 when he was a player with the Stamps and, with the support of his wife Petra, has watched the initiative continue to grow. In 2020’s strictly-online event, Mace led the charge in raising $32,964, and 2019 set a then-record with 1,100 turkeys and hams collected for distribution.

All donations will be provided to the Airdrie Food Bank, CUPS, Enviros Wilderness School, Children’s Cottage Society and 1835 House for local citizens otherwise without a festival meal.
