It’s a new year and we’ve got plenty of new faces on the roster.

With that in mind, let’s get to know the members of the 2019 Stampeders team.

Next up: Vincent Desjardins

Height: 6’1”
Weight: 264 lbs
Birthdate: 03/12/1995
Born: Quebec City, QC
School: Laval

When did you start playing football?

I started playing in the seventh grade. The University of Laval – where I played my college ball – had a youth program, so I played there in the summer. I really enjoyed it and haven’t looked back.

What’s your favourite part about football?

The fact that you can hit somebody without getting penalized, you can release the anger you’ve got. Other than that it’s just the ultimate team sport, they’re my brothers out there, they’re family and you’re competing with the ultimate goal of winning. And that’s what I love, winning.

What is your favourite drill and why?

Anything related to the pass rush, we all need to work on our craft with that anytime I get a chance to do it I enjoy it.

Who has been you biggest football mentor?

Every coach I’ve had has been a mentor. Coach Glen Constantin in Laval has been a huge mentor for me. I looked up to him growing up.

What is the funniest thing you’ve ever seen on a football field?

I think some other guys said the same thing, when Wynton puked on the field was the ultimate one. That was funny.

If you could have been there for one event in history, what would it be?

The Olympics. If I could have been able to compete in any of the Olympics that would have been great.

If you could have lunch with any three people – dead or alive – who would you pick?

Aaron Donald, Tiger Woods, and Drake.

If you won $10 million, what would be your first purchase?

I’d buy a cottage by a lake, buy a boat, and enjoy family time there in the off-season.
