Hayes originally signed with the Stamps on May 9, 2018, and he spent the 2018 season on the team’s practice roster.

Hayes signed with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent and attended the team’s 2017 training camp. He played 25 games over two seasons at Arizona State and in his senior season he had 42 tackles including three tackles for loss, three interceptions and six pass breakups.
