DD (Daniels) played Matthew’s position, and Kamar played where Ambles is playing. In the meeting room when they’re there they help out a lot, and it’s good to hear their voice. KJ (Jorden) was the one that gave us a pre-game speech (prior to the Western Final) so it was big.”

“These are two brand new teams for us – we haven’t played them (the RedBlacks) since early on in the season so we’ve got a lot of work to do in that sense. To disrespect this year by saying that we’re using it as revenge from two years ago or even as redemption for last year is disrespectful in my eyes. This is a new year, and this is an entire year as a whole. For Dave, for me, and for everybody that was here it will feel great to end it with hoisting the cup over our head – but not just because the last two years. It’s because it’s very hard to win in the CFL, it’s very hard to get to this point….it has nothing to do with past years it has to do with this year.”

“They’ve gotten a lot better at playing their coverages, they’re very well disciplined. They bring a lot of pressure, and they do a very good job getting there when they do bring pressure; they try to force the ball out of your hand early, tackle, and get the ball out. For me, I’ve got to see that and get the ball out, and the receivers have got to hold onto the ball.”

DICKENSON ON REGULAR SEASON STRUGGLES

“I think we showed some resiliency though, and I think that’s missing in life these days. We want a resilient team we want guys that can overcome adversity. There was a lot of doubters, a lot of people thought we were on our way out, and we found some new energy, some new blood, some new players stepped up and were trying to create momentum. It’s definitely a different year, were a different team, I feel good about the guys in our locker room and I’m hoping to use that momentum to win one more game.”
