Stamps basketball, presented by TELUS, tips off

The Calgary Stampeders basketball season, presented by TELUS, tips off on Tuesday, Mar. 8 with a visit to St. Joseph’s school in northwest Calgary.

The launch of the new season and the Stamps version of March Madness continues a tradition of nearly a quarter-century that has seen players visiting school gymnasiums in and around Calgary for a spirited but friendly game of hoops. Some of the players attending select games include Bo Levi Mitchell, Ben D’Aguilar, Deron Mayo, Rob Cote, Rene Paredes, Spencer Wilson, Adam Thibault and Quinn Smith,

In addition to current players and staff, Ralph the Dog will be up to his usual hijinks. Mark Stephen of News Talk 770, the voice of the Stampeders, makes occasional appearances at the games to provide pre-game intros and some play-by-play. TELUS, a proud partner of the Stampeders, will also be on hand to give out prizes.
