The Calgary Stampeders have added international defensive back Uriah Grant to the practice roster.

Grant is an Ole Miss product who attended mini-camp with the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013 and has played in the Arena Football League in 2014 and 2015. With the AFL’s Tampa Bay Storm and Philadelphia Soul over the past two seasons, Grant has recorded 17.5 total tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and one fumble recovery.

Grant played two seasons (2011-12) at Mississippi and started 11 of the 22 games he played for the Rebels. During his time at Ole Miss, he recorded 51 tackles and six sacks. As a senior in 2012, he had 29 tackles and was second on the team with five sacks. He played one season at Fullerton Community College and earned first-team all-conference honours after registering 42 tackles, including 17 tackles for loss, and six sacks.

In another transaction, the Stampeders have released international defensive lineman Quayshawne Buckley from the practice roster.
