About last night . . .

Here’s a closer look at Saturday’s 42-19 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders:

Double century

The number 200 loomed large for Calgary’s special-teams aces on Saturday.

Not only did veteran long snapper Randy Chevrier play his 200th career regular-season game, kicker Rene Paredes booted his 200th career field goal.

The milestone took place on the first of Paredes’ four field goals against the Roughriders, a 13-yarder.

Paredes is just the fourth player to kick 200 field goals with the Stamps as he joins a group that also includes Mark McLoughlin (664), J.T. Hay (282) and Sandro DeAngelis (218).

With his four field goals and two extra points on Saturday, Paredes has 152 points for the season, marking the fifth time in as many seasons the Concordia product has cracked the 150-point mark.

Double trouble

With the rule change in 2015 and extra points now being snapped from the 25-yard line, the Stamps have frequently been willing to try for the two-point convert instead. As a result, Marquay McDaniel has established a CFL record.

With his catch after Eric Rogers’ second touchdown on Saturday, McDaniel breaks a tie with Peter Dalla Riva and Nick Arakgi and now has sole possession of the record for two-point converts in a single season with five.

Lucky 13

With Saturday’s result, the Stamps have reached 13 victories for the fifth time in eight seasons under John Hufnagel.

Calgary won 13 games in 2008 and 2010, 14 games in 2013 and had 15 victories a season ago.

The Stamps are 42-11 since the start of the 2013 season.

No slumps allowed

With just one game remaining, the Stamps are assured of avoiding consecutive defeats at any point in the season for a third consecutive year. Dating back to Week 4 of the 2012 season, the Stamps will finish the year with a streak of 69 weeks without suffering back-to-back losses, a CFL record.

By comparison, there have been 145 instances of CFL teams following up a loss with another loss during that period.

Occurrences of a team following a loss with another loss since Week 3 of 2012 season:

Calgary (0)
BC (11)
Hamilton (13)
Toronto (15)
Ottawa (15)
Edmonton (17)
Montreal (17)
Saskatchewan (28)
Winnipeg (29)

In addition, Coach Huff will complete his Stamps head coaching career without a single three-game losing streak during eight years on the job. Since the start of 2008, the other eight CFL teams have suffered through a combined total of 87 losing streaks of three games.

Three-game losing streaks since start of 2008:

Calgary (0)
Ottawa (4)
Montreal (8)
BC (9)
Edmonton (9)
Hamilton (12)
Saskatchewan (13)
Toronto (16)
Winnipeg (16)

Perfect 10

By dumping the Roughriders, the Stampeders maintained their perfect record when coming off a bye week under Coach Huff.

Calgary is 10-0 since the start of the 2008 season after being idle and has averaged 37.5 points scored and a 15.3-point margin of victory in those 10 victories.

Race for the crown

The top two rushers in the CFL this season will go head to head in the Week 20 regular-season finale when the Stamps face the Lions in Vancouver.

BC’s Andrew Harris leads the way with 997 yards and Calgary’s Jerome Messam is second, 50 yards back, at 947.

Regardless of who comes out on top, it will mark the fourth consecutive season a Canadian will win the rushing title as the Stamps’ Jon Cornish was No. 1 in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

Messam, incidentally, is the first player to rush for 100 yards in his Stamps debut since Hugh Charles did it on Aug. 16, 2014.
