The Calgary Stampeders have added import receiver Joe Anderson and import defensive back Shaquille Richardson to the practice roster.

Anderson played nine games over two seasons (2012-13) with the National Football League’s Chicago Bears, returning five kickoffs for 82 yards and making four tackles, and also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ practice roster for the final month of the 2014 season.

The six-foot-one, 196-lb. Texarkana, Tex., native played his college football at Texas Southern and had 154 catches for 2,010 yards and 13 touchdowns in 33 games for the Tigers from 2009-11. Prior to transferring to Texas Southern, Anderson played his freshman season at Louisiana Tech in 2007 and had 27 catches for 186 yards and one touchdown.

Richardson attended 2015 training camp with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and was at NFL camps with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014 and with the Arizona Cardinals in 2015. He was a fifth-round selection by Pittsburgh in the 2014 NFL draft.

Richardson played 49 games over four seasons (2010-13) at the University of Arizona and recorded 189 total tackles, including eight for tackles for loss, 10 interceptions, 30 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

In other roster moves, the Stamps have released international quarterback Austin Dodge and national defensive lineman Brandon Tett from the practice roster. Calgary will retain the rights to Tett, who was selected in the 2015 supplementary draft.
