It’s time once again for one of the highlights of the Canadian Football League season – the Labour Day Classic, presented by Jayman BUILT.

One of the great CFL traditions is the annual meeting at McMahon Stadium between the Calgary Stampeders and Edmonton Eskimos – this marks the 50th time the rivals have met on this day – and there’s added intrigue to this year’s matchup as first place in the West Division is on the line.

Please note: Due to Crowchild construction, we recommend coming to today’s game early, coming by foot, bicycle, train or bus or carpooling!

National Anthem: Captain John Kim accompanied by the RCA Band. Also joining them will be the flag party from HMCS Tecumseh. Additionally, a Canadian flag will be carried by 40 military members from the following: HMCS Tecumseh, 41 Brigade Calgary, 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron, CFRC Calgary.

Coin toss: Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force and Lieutenant-General Mike Hood

Ceremonial Kickoff: Dayton Oakley

YMCA Kickoff Kid: Sophie

Delta Kananaskis Hero of the Game: All service members in attendance

Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation

The Labour Day Classic will feature the Stampeders’ annual salute to the Canadian Armed Forces as the Red and White and their fans honour those who serve our country.

Special limited-edition military- and camo-themed Stampeders hats will be on sale at the Stamps Store and at concourse kiosks, with part of the proceeds being directed to the Support Our Troops Fund.

Prior to the game, two CF-18 Hornets will perform a flyover.

Following the conclusion of the game, uniformed military personnel will be welcomed onto the field where they will receive the opportunity to have a post-game group photo with Stampeders players.
