Calgary Stampeders slotback Marquay McDaniel has been named one of the CFL’s Top Performers for Week 6 of the Canadian Football League season.
As part of a new weekly and monthly awards format honouring the league’s top three performers regardless of position, McDaniel earned recognition as a result of his seven-catch, 126-yard and two-touchdown performance in Saturday’s 25-22 victory over the Montreal Alouettes.
McDaniel’s first touchdown started Calgary’s comeback from a 17-0 first quarter deficit and his second score gave the Stamps a lead they would never relinquish. It was McDaniel’s second 100-yard performance of the season and the ninth of his career.
The veteran leads the CFL this season with 29 receptions and he has accumulated 378 yards and 20 points on two touchdowns and four two-point conversions.
