How does it feel to have your first CFL touchdown?
It feels great! I couldn’t believe it at first. People always say it’s like living a dream but it actually is. It was amazing.
I give all the credit to Adam Berger, though. He blocked it and did all the work — I just had to scoop and score. Both Adams did great on that play, I guess.
What are you going to do with the ball?
I’m going to keep the ball and give it to my dad. He’s going to be very proud.
What went through your mind when you saw the ball loose and in front of you?
When I’m in the game, I always stay in my zone. I keep visualizing stuff and I knew we were coming with pressure. So I was like, if it gets blocked – because sometimes people try to scoop it but can’t on the first try and so it messes with their timing – so I told myself, ‘Bend your knees, scoop it and then run.’ And then it happened.
I was ready for it, I just bent my knees got the ball and just ran, man. I visualize it all the time and that’s how you make big plays.
Last game, the special teams had a tough night with a lot of penalties going against them. How did it feel to have a positive impact in this game?
We did create two turnovers and the touchdown but we still have to cover better though. We gave up at least four long returns, so we’ve got to tighten up on that for sure. We’re getting there though, for sure.
