Heading west

By Stampeders.com Staff

Celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary at McMahon Stadium on Monday night as the Stamps downed the Argos, Stacy and Gordon Price walked away celebrating much more than just victory for the home team.

Fan Appreciation Night saw the couple win a trip for two to Vancouver to cheer on the Red and White when they face the BC Lions on Nov. 7. The lucrative package includes flights, accommodation, game tickets and food and beverages at the stadium.

After all fans were asked to rise to their feet during a timeout in the second half against Toronto, the Stampeders’ Last Fan Standing contest saw the couple standing proud after all other fans were systematically eliminated over the loud speaker based on seat locations. The series of instructions concluded with the Price’s being awarded their one-of-a-kind road trip.

“I’ve always been impressed with the little extras that the organization does to make sure fans have a great time,” said Stacy. “Everyone at the Stampeders does a bang-up job.”

Gordon – a local farmer raising sheep and growing grain, and Stacy – a member of the Canadian Angus Association, regularly take part in the Stamps’ 4-H Night alongside family members. The celebration is the largest agricultural event of its kind in Canada.

Longtime Stamps fans, Stacy and Gordon have shared season tickets with another couple since the 2012 season. Their three children and young grandchild are also proud Stampeder supporters, as are Stacy’s parents, who regularly attend home games at McMahon. In fact, a series of family photographs were recently taken as anniversary gift from their children while all sporting their favorite Stamps jerseys.

Perhaps those jerseys will make another appearance in the stands of BC Place on the first Saturday of November.
