It’s a battle of co-leaders in the CFL’s West Division on Saturday at McMahon Stadium as the Stampeders take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Kickoff for the contest, which is presented by Alberta Ram Dealers, is 5 p.m.
Both clubs are 2-1 after recording hard-fought victories in Week 3. Calgary, which is facing a quick turnaround after playing on Monday night, was a 25-20 winner over the Toronto Argonauts while the Bombers edged the Montreal Alouettes 25-23 in a contest played on Friday in Winnipeg.
Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell is coming off a 303-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Argos and he ranks third in the league with 810 passing yards. Winnipeg counterpart Drew Willy has completed 75 per cent of his throws and ranks second in the CFL with a QB rating of 117.6.
This is Calgary’s first meeting with a West Division opponent after starting the campaign with three consecutive games against Eastern clubs.
The Stamps and Bombers split their two meetings in 2014 with each side winning in the other’s building. Calgary was a 33-23 winner in Manitoba on Oct. 18 while Winnipeg prevailed 18-13 on Nov. 1 at a snow-blanketed McMahon Stadium.
