Stamps and ATB team up

By Stampeders.com Staff

The Calgary Stampeders are proud to announce a major partnership with ATB Financial.

As part of the agreement, ATB will install LED lighting at McMahon Stadium along with two digital video boards on the exterior of the east side of the stadium. The boards will be used to promote and celebrate Stampeders games, University of Calgary Dinos games and show support for community initiatives.

“The Calgary Stampeders are extremely excited about the partnership with a proud Alberta company such as ATB Financial,” said Stampeders president Gordon Norrie. “The people at ATB Financial are great corporate and community citizens and we’re proud to be associated with them.”

The environmentally friendly LED lights will allow programmers to customize the colours on the landmark stadium, making it a reflection of the community it serves, said Dave Mowat, ATB’s President & CEO.

“ATB’s headquarters in Edmonton already has this kind of lighting, and I can tell you it turns heads,” Mowat said. “Like the night we lit it red and white when the Stamps won the Grey Cup, or red and gold for the Flames’ playoff games. We heard about that! Now, we can have the same fun here.”

Fans at McMahon Stadium will also notice a large ATB presence inside and outside the stadium on game days.

The plan is to have the video boards and LED lights installed by mid-August.

An Alberta institution for more than three quarters of a century, ATB has grown from one small Treasury Branch to become the largest Alberta-based financial institution. Today, more than 5,000 team members with expertise in all aspects of banking help more than 710,000 customers in 244 Alberta communities.
