The Calgary Stampeders will play their second and final pre-season contest on Friday when they travel to Regina to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Kickoff at Mosaic Stadium is 7:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on News Talk 770.
The Stamps won their pre-season opener 20-6 over the BC Lions on Friday at McMahon Stadium while the Roughriders dropped a 31-24 decision to the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday in Fort McMurray, Alta.
Friday marks the last chance for the Stamps’ roster hopefuls to make an impression on the coaching staff before the final cutdown deadline at 8 p.m. MDT on Saturday.
In addition to evaluating players, the Red and White are also looking to instill a winning attitude to carry into the regular schedule. The Stamps are a league-best 11-4 in pre-season play since John Hufnagel took over as head coach and general manager prior to the 2008 season and have also been the most successful regular-season club during that period while making three trips to the Grey Cup and winning two titles.
Calgary starts the 2015 regular season on Friday, June 26 with a home date against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in a 2014 Grey Cup rematch.
