Calgary Stampeders vs BC Lions
McMahon Stadium
Friday, June 12
7:30 p.m. kickoff
The Calgary Stampeders will face the BC Lions on Friday in their 2015 CFL pre-season opener. Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 7:30 p.m.
It’s the Stamps’ first action since winning the 102nd Grey Cup in Vancouver on Nov. 30.
The contest gives Stampeders fans their first glimpse of rookie hopefuls and the chance to welcome back last year’s stars including 2014 Grey Cup Most Valuable Player Bo Levi Mitchell and three-time CFL rushing champion Jon Cornish.
Friday’s affair marks the first of two pre-season contests for the Stamps, who will travel to Regina’s Mosaic Stadium to visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Friday, June 19.
The Red and White posted a league-best 15-3 record in 2014 before beating Edmonton in the Western Final and Hamilton in the Grey Cup. The Lions were 9-9 a season ago and lost to Montreal as the cross-over team in the Eastern Final.
Former Stampeders player and assistant coach Jeff Tedford is in his first season as head coach of the Lions.
