The Calgary Stampeders have signed international offensive lineman Christian Johnson.
Johnson spent time with the National Football League’s Arizona Cardinals in 2014 and played for Dallas and Philadelphia in the Arena Football League from 2011-14. He was a member of the AFL’s all-star team in 2013.
The six-foot-four, 320-lb. Alexandria, Va., native appeared in 48 games over four seasons at the University of Kentucky. During Johnson’s senior season (2009), the Wildcats averaged 191.2 rushing yards per game and allowed just 17 sacks.
Johnson’s younger brother Micah, who was a teammate at Kentucky, signed with the Stampeders in 2013.
