Jeff Fuller signed with the Stampeders in mid-September of 2013 and saw his first game-action on Oct. 18 in Edmonton.
He was the team’s leading receiver in the final two regular-season games that season and also had a 46-yard catch in the Western Final.
Last season Fuller battled injury but registered 29 catches for 378 yards and five touchdowns in eight starts. He scored his first two CFL touchdowns on July 12 against Toronto.
He played four seasons at Texas A&M — his father’s alma mater — where he set school career records with 34 career touchdown receptions, 233 catches and 3,092 yards.
This season you’ll find Fuller wearing No. 3 on his jersey, instead of his familiar 31.
Now, here are some things you probably didn’t know about the six-foot-four receiver.
In high school I . . . got into a lot of trouble. Mostly by staying out past curfew. I was in trouble with everybody, really. I was a mess in high school.
Playing college football was . . . one of the funnest times in my life. I don’t know how to explain it. Everything was important, but it wasn’t as serious, I guess you could say.
I have always wanted to . . . BMX in the X Games.
I own a lot of . . . nothing. I don’t own a lot of anything.
The last thing I bought online was . . . shoes. Some LeBrons.
The last compliment I got was . . . “nice dog.”
My first CFL game was . . . Edmonton in 2013 at the end of the season. I had my first big CFL catch at the end of the game for the win. I got the last first down. Kind of like this year, too. It’s crazy.
The last time I apologized was . . . I dumped water on my girlfriend’s face a few weeks ago and I apologized to her for that. We were having a little water fight in the house, I waited until she was sleeping and I dumped my gallon of water on her face. So I apologized to her for that.
If all the offensive linemen were on Dancing with the Stars, the one who would win would be. . . I’d have to go with Spencer Wilson. He seems to have the biggest sense of humour on the o-line. A sense of humour is important because you want to be comfortable and you can’t be too serious about yourself.
Championships . . . are the greatest feeling in the world.
