The City of Calgary will be holding a free rally to celebrate the Calgary Stampeders’ victory of the 102nd Grey Cup, a 20-16 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday at Vancouver’s BC Place.

The rally will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Municipal Plaza and Olympic Plaza.

“We invite all of our fans to come join us as we celebrate the Grey Cup championship and the successful culmination of the Year of the Horse,” said Stampeders president Gordon Norrie. “The fans played a huge role in this championship and we want you to come and party with us. Go Stamps Go!”

Stamps players and coaches will be in attendance as well Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi along with Ralph the Dog and members of the Outriders.

Wear red and white and show up for some great giveaways, and a few surprises. Food trucks will be on hand and you can purchase 2014 Grey Cup championship merchandise.

Macleod Trail northbound between 9th and 6th Avenues, and 8th Avenue between Macleod Trail and 1st Street SE will be closed to traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in order to accommodate the event. CTrain service along 7th Avenue will not be interrupted.
