The season could have ended tonight, but I’m glad ours didn’t.
On my first touchdown, I saw the ball and the DB can’t make a play if he can’t see the ball. The only way he can make a play is if I let him make a play. I got it inside and made a play on the ball.
That’s an important stat in the game of football — who scores last in the first half and first in the second half. That’s what we did and I’m glad I got an opportunity to do that. It was a team effort and we made the plays when we needed to.
Cornish thinks he can take the ball to the end-zone every time and that long touchdown made me a believer. I saw him bust out of there with a couple guys in his way and I just tried to be a shield and escort him. I was like a fullback.
The coaches said that they wanted to get me in the Week 20 game in Vancouver just in case we got back so I would be familiar with everything. Now we are going back and I can’t wait to play next week and hopefully get a family member up there to watch us play and get a “W.”
All those weeks during practice when I was on the practice roster, I was getting better personally and I was making the defensive backs better. I was wanting to score on them. Whatever position I was at, I tried to make plays at practice and I finally got an opportunity to get in once we got first place wrapped up.
I just try to make a play on the ball and it’s a lovely sport, and I’m happy I’m playing it.
