Here’s a closer look at the Stamps’ 31-15 loss in Montreal on Sunday

Streaks snapped

Sunday’s result put an end to a series of winning streaks for the Stampeders, including:

  • A six-game overall winning streak
  • A five-game road winning streak
  • A string of nine consecutive wins against East Division opponents
  • A three-game run of victories against the Alouettes

Saturday against BC, the Stamps will try to keep a few other streaks alive. Calgary goes into the contest with three straight home wins and two consecutive victories against division rivals.

Looking to bounce back

The Stampeders have shown the ability to rebound after losses during John Hufnagel’s reign in Calgary.

Since the start of the 2008 campaign, Calgary is 26-6-1 the week after a loss and the Red and White will be looking to continue that trend on Saturday, Sept. 27 when the BC Lions visit McMahon Stadium. The Stamps have never lost more than two games in a row under Hufnagel.

Tate’s a TD machine

Despite making just one start this season, Calgary quarterback Drew Tate leads the teams and is tied for second in the CFL with six rushing touchdowns.

Tate found the end-zone twice during his start on Sunday and had previously scored four times as a situational player behind regular starting pivot Bo Levi Mitchell.

The six rushing TDs are a single-season personal best and have come on just 27 carries, which means that Tate scores on 22.2 per cent of his touches. By comparison, Winnipeg’s Nic Grigsby, who leads the league with eight rushing touchdowns, scores on 5.8 per cent of his carries.

In case you missed it . . .
