The Stampeders travel to Montreal this week to face the Alouettes in a Sunday matinee. Kickoff at Molson Stadium is 11 a.m. MDT.
The West Division-leading Stamps are riding a six-game winning streak and are unbeaten on the road so far in 2014 with a 5-0 mark. Calgary improved to 10-1 on Saturday with a 40-33 comeback victory over the Toronto Argonauts at McMahon Stadium.
Montreal (3-8) won just one of its first eight games this season but has been playing much better in recent weeks with quarterback Jonathan Crompton leading the team to wins over Ottawa and Hamilton in Weeks 10 and 11. Last week, the Alouettes held a fourth-quarter lead in Edmonton in a bid to push the winning streak to three games before eventually falling 33-16.
The Stampeders have won the three most recent meetings with Montreal and six of the seven latest encounters. The Stamps are 9-4 against the Larks since John Hufnagel became head coach and general manager.
Calgary is looking to complete a perfect season against the East Division as the Stamps have won their first seven games against Montreal, Toronto, Hamilton and Ottawa.
The Red and White’s final six games are all against West Division rivals with two games apiece against BC, Saskatchewan and Winnipeg.
Running back Jon Cornish has been on a roll for the Stamps as he has amassed 446 rushing yards in the past three games and has cracked the 100-yard mark in each of those three contests. Last week against Toronto, he had 209 yards from scrimmage and scored two touchdowns as well as a two-point conversion.
Despite missing six games due to injury, Cornish has climbed into third place in the CFL rushing race and is just 60 yards back of leader Nic Grisgby of the Blue Bombers.
