The Stampeders will be bidding for a fifth consecutive victory and a season-series sweep of the Eskimos when they travel to Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday.
Kickoff for the contest is 5 p.m. MDT and you can catch all the action at the viewing parties at both of Calgary’s Shark Club locations.
The Stamps are 8-1 and in sole possession of first place in the West Division. They’ve accounted for both of the Eskimos’ losses so far this season — a 26-22 decision in Edmonton on July 24 and a 28-13 final in Monday’s Labour Day Classic at McMahon Stadium.
Jon Cornish is coming off an award-winning performance as the Calgary running back rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown on Monday. He was named the CFL’s offensive and Canadian player of the week for his efforts.
Calgary has won 10 straight regular-season meetings with the Eskimos and eight in a row at Commonwealth Stadium.
Calgary is attempting to sweep the home-and-home Labour Day series for a third consecutive year and for the fifth time in the past six seasons. Calgary has won the rematch contest seven years in a row and eight times in the past nine years.
In 24 previous home-and-homes during Labour Day week, the Stamps have swept seven times, Edmonton has taken both games five times and the series has been split on 12 occasions.
