The Stampeders play host to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Friday night at McMahon Stadium. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.
The Stamps (2-0) are coming off a 34-15 road win on Saturday over the Toronto Argonauts and are one of three unbeaten teams in the West Division heading into Week 4. The Ticats (0-2) were on a bye last week and their most recent result was a 28-24 loss in Edmonton on July 4.
The Stamps swept the season series with Hamilton a year ago, winning 26-22 at McMahon on Sept. 13 and 35-11 on Sept. 28 in Guelph, Ont., the Ticats’ temporary home while their new stadium in Hamilton was under construction.
Bo Levi Mitchell is off to a strong start at quarterback for the Stamps as he has thrown for 580 yards with six touchdowns and zero interceptions in two wins. His 146.6 QB rating is tops in the CFL.
With Zach Collaros sidelined by an injury, the Ticats announced Monday that Jeremiah Masoli will get the start at quarterback. A three-year CFL vet, Masoli spent 2012 on Edmonton’s injured list and dressed for all 18 games last season with Hamilton, but saw limited playing time.
The Stamps defence has allowed a league-low 23 points — an average of 11.5 per game — so far this season and the only touchdown Calgary has allowed came on the final play of a season-opening 29-8 win over Montreal.
The Stamps have won the nine most recent meetings with Hamilton at McMahon, with the Ticats’ most recent win in Calgary dating back to July 4, 2004.
