It felt great to be back on the field with my teammates and the fans. For me especially — it’s the first time in 10 months and I just enjoyed myself being back on the field with the young guys.
I wouldn’t say I appreciate it more. I do appreciate where I’m at and I’m very grateful where I’m at, but I can’t say I appreciate it more. I just have more fun now than I did in the past because I know how fast it can be taken away.
Going up against this tough Winnipeg defence felt really good. I was glad to be able to go out and just make a play. And then to score after it was great, too.
When I talked to Bo Levi Mitchell after making that catch, he said he was trying to throw it out of bounds and it got tipped up I guess. I just tried to block the guy out and then I realized I could actually make the catch so I went for it.
All in all, it was a great night. It’s always good to win. You have to learn how to win. When you can learn how to win and the young guys can come up and make it in the clutch, it says a lot about our team.
