The Calgary Stampeders will try to extend their winning streak to four games on Friday as they make a trip to Edmonton’s Commonwealth Stadium to face the Eskimos.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Newstalk 770 as well as TSN. Fans in the Calgary can catch all the action at the Stamps’ official site for Road Game Tweet-ups —Shark Club Deerfoot Meadows (7995 11th St. SE).
The Stamps (12-3) need one more win to clinch a home playoff date, which would be either the West Division semifinal on Nov. 10 or the West final on Nov. 17.
Calgary is coming off a 40-26 home-field victory over the Lions and the Stamps are trying to win four games in a row for the third time this season.
The Red and White’s most recent four-game string of victories (Weeks 9 through 12) included back-to-back wins over Edmonton in an early-September home-and-home series. Calgary won 37-34 in the Labour Day Classic on Sept. 2 at McMahon Stadium and 22-12 in the rematch at Commonwealth on Sept. 6.
The Eskimos (3-12) have lost three in a row including a 14-9 setback to the Saskatchewan Roughriders last week in Regina that officially eliminated Edmonton from playoff contention.
Eight of the Eskimos’ losses this season have been by 10 or fewer points including six by five points or fewer.
Calgary is 5-2 on the road this season and 5-2 against West Division opponents. The Eskimos are 1-7 at home and 0-7 against the West.
