Post-practice comments – Sept. 26

David Moll

Here is a summary of head coach/general manager John Hufnagel’s comments to the media after Thursday’s practice at McMahon Stadium:

On the status of injured receiver Maurice Price:

“He surprised me. He ran well today, so there’s a good chance he’ll be in the lineup.”

On facing the Hamilton offence for the second time in three weeks:

“We need a lot tighter coverage. We gave some throws (in the first meeting) and we have to contest some of those throws. We have to be disruptive, get into the offensive backfield, put some pressure on Henry (Burris) and also get some good jams on the receivers to shut down their timing.”

On the team’s week of practice after last week’s loss to Toronto:

“We had two real good days of practice this week — especially yesterday when it was cold. They were very focused and very energetic both days. I like what I’m seeing right now.”

On the team’s success on the road over the past six seasons:

“Our guys go on the road and treat it as a business trip. Winning football games is very important to them and they don’t see the difference between playing at McMahon Stadium or on the road. As long as they get themselves ready to play, they have a good chance to succeed. We don’t always win, but we play hard and try to win.”
