It’s a head-to-head battle of the Canadian Football League’s first-place teams as the Calgary Stampeders take on the Toronto Argonauts at McMahon Stadium. Kickoff is at 5:30 p.m.
The Stamps are riding a four-game winning streak and have put eight of the past nine games in the victory column to take sole possession of top spot in the West Division with a 9-2 record.
The Argos have won two in a row are 6-2 over the past eight games to improve their East Division-leading mark to 7-4.
Calgary remained unbeaten at home in 2013 by snagging a 26-22 comeback victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 12. The Stamps are 5-0 at McMahon this season and have won 10 straight at home dating back to Aug. 18, 2012. Coincidentally, it was Toronto that handed the Red and White its most recent loss at McMahon.
The Argos also had a come-from-behind win in Week 12 as they rallied to down the Saskatchewan Roughriders 31-29 in Regina. Toronto is 4-1 on the road this season.
Calgary is unbeaten against East Division clubs so far this season with five wins in as many tries including a 35-14 victory at Toronto on Aug. 23. The Argos are 3-3 against the West.
Even though both teams have endured the loss of key personnel — including their starting quarterbacks — the Stamps and Argos are two of three highest-scoring teams in the CFL.
