Tonight, Edmonton gave us some big pushback. It’s a lesson well learned that you have got to finish. We knew coming in that they were a strong fourth-quarter team, and it showed today. Fortunately enough for us, we were able to hunker down and get that last stop.
We watched film on the Eskimos, so we knew they had lost some heartbreakers coming down the stretch in their last couple of games. We were well prepared for it. We didn’t overlook them at all. We prepared for them like any other team. Hats off to them for the effort, but hats off to us for coming away with the win.
I had a good game tonight, but that’s because God is good. I just had it in the back of my mind that my little boy at home, this was his first game watching me – even though he probably doesn’t know what’s going on. I know that at some point, he’s going to grow up and I’m going to tell him about this game, so I just wanted to make it special.
Being a new dad feels good. It’s my first baby boy and I miss him, but I know this is how I’m going to feed him, so I’ve got to go out and do what I do best.
