Argo for a day

David Moll

It’s a fact that is often overlooked or forgotten by many but, for a short time back in 2004, Kevin Glenn was a Toronto Argonaut. We caught up with Kevin to see how he felt about going up against his “former” team for the first time this season.

What was it like to be a Toronto Argonaut for a day?

Pretty exciting for my family. They thought I was going to be closer to home (Detroit) having been traded from Saskatchewan. They thought they were going to be able to come to every home game.

I would have to say it was about nine hours that I was an Argo — the next morning I got a call from Adam Rita to tell me I was traded to Winnipeg — and their dreams were shattered.

They were still able to come to some games when we played back east.

It was more shattering for them than it was for me. I was happy I was still able to play football.

Did you get a chance to throw on the double blue? How did you look in it?

I never got an opportunity to do it; to put it on. But I wore blue in high school though. We were blue and gold (coincidence?). So I wore blue well in high school, but never the Argo blue.

Now you are going up in a big game against Toronto this weekend. Do you ever want to show up your “old” team for letting you go?

(Laughing) That’s so long ago man. No, we just want to go out and play good football. We want to make it a good game and come away with a big victory. As long as we focus on the task at hand and try to eliminate bad football, we’re going to be alright.
