The Calgary Stampeders announce that two of their 2013 CFL Canadian draft selections — receiver Yannick Morin-Plante and fullback Charlie Power — are returning to their respective schools for the 2013 Canadian Interuniversity Sport football seasons.
Morin-Plante, a third-round selection (25th overall) in this year’s draft, is returning to the Universite de Laval for a fifth season with the Rouge et Or while Power, who was selected in the fourth round (28th overall), goes back to the University of Saskatchewan.
Both players had spent all of the 2013 season to date on the Stampeders’ practice roster.
“We’re high on the potential of both of these players and we’ll be watching their progress in the CIS this season with great interest,” said head coach and general manager John Hufnagel. “We wish them both the best of luck.”
