Stamps heading to Winnipeg

The Calgary Stampeders face an East Division opponent for a third consecutive week on Friday as they travel to Winnipeg to play their first game at the Blue Bombers’ new home, Investors Group Field. Kickoff is 6 p.m.

The Stamps (3-1) are coming off back-to-back wins over the Montreal Alouettes including a 38-27 victory on Saturday during which the Red and White erased a 24-0 first-quarter deficit.

The Bombers (1-3) dropped a 35-19 decision to the Toronto Argonauts on home field last week and are still looking for their first win in their new stadium, having lost their pre-season game at home as well as two regular-season contests.

The Stamps carry a seven-game winning streak against Winnipeg into the game, with the most recent Blue Bombers win dating back to July 10, 2009, at Canad Inns Stadium.

Five of the seven Calgary victories over Winnipeg since that date have come by fewer than 10 points including two games decided by three points and another decided by one.
