West: Victory speech from The Congressman

CP Images/Jeff McIntosh

Tonight I feel pretty good.

There was a lot still left out there on the field but we just have to continue to get better and put together another great game plan like we did with coach Huff (Hufnagel) and Dickie (Dickenson) tonight.

I felt like Drew and I were in sync. He found a rhythm and the ball kept on coming.

I was able to be on the other end to receive, and I just tried to take advantage of every opportunity I got.

We have a good group of receivers and the offensive line did their job today, so the opportunities were all over the field. I was real happy I was in a position to take advantage of them today.

Getting the first catch out of the way is nice in a game, but it’s all about that last catch because it’s a long game, so you don’t want to dwell on making the first catch.

Getting the first catch did give me some confidence; going up against those veteran cornerbacks.

My teammates, those guys depend on you, so you’ve got to make the plays.

I’ll tell you one thing; I’ve got a great mentor in Nik Lewis. Those vets are always in the huddle and communicating to us guys to get that chemistry.

As long as we continue to stay gelled like that, we’re going be unstoppable.
