Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import defensive lineman Maurice (Moe) Fountain and import receiver Raymond Webber have signed with the team. As per club policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
Here is a closer look at both players:
Moe Fountain: Fountain (six-foot-four, 271 lbs.) originally signed with the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent and has also been with the Seattle Seahawks and Philadelphia Eagles. He was a member of the United Football League-champion Virginia Destroyers in 2011. Collegiately, Fountain played at Clemson and became just the second player in the school’s history to play 50 games.
Raymond Webber: Webber was a first-team Southwestern Athletic Conference all-star with Arkansas-Pine Bluff in 2010 after a season in which he caught 101 passes for 1,429 yards and 10 touchdowns. In four years for the Golden Lions, he had 180 receptions for 2,376 yards and 16 majors. He signed with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and has also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and New York Jets. Webber also played for the UFL’s Sacramento Mountain Lions in 2012.
