2013 schedule unveiled

The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce their schedule for the 2013 Canadian Football League season.

The 18-game regular season gets under way with the home-opener at McMahon Stadium on Friday, June 28, with the BC Lions providing the opposition. The home schedule wraps up Saturday, Oct. 26 when the Saskatchewan Roughriders will be in town.

The Riders and BC Lions each make two regular-season visits to McMahon while the Edmonton Eskimos, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes each come calling once.

Calgary’s home dates during the regular season include four Fridays and four Saturdays as well as the traditional Labour Day Monday contest.

Highlights of the Stampeders’ 2013 schedule include:

  • The Stamps tune up for the regular season and give Calgary fans their first look at the 2013 squad on Friday, June 14 when they face the BC Lions in a pre-season contest at McMahon Stadium
  • The regular season home-opener will be Friday, June 28 at McMahon against BC
  • The Red and White will make their first visit to Winnipeg’s new stadium on Friday, July 26
  • The Labour Day Classic, one of the greatest CFL traditions, will be played on Monday, Sept. 2 against the Edmonton Eskimos in a 3 p.m. kickoff
  • In a rematch of the 100th Grey Cup, the Stamps will host Toronto on Saturday, Sept. 21
  • The Stamps will face Hamilton in Guelph, Ont., on Sept. 28. The Ticats are playing their home games in Guelph this season while their new stadium is constructed
  • Fans can kick off Thanksgiving weekend on Friday, Oct. 11 when the Lions visit Calgary. The evening will feature exciting new holiday-themed promotions and contests
  • The annual PinkPower game to help raise awareness and funds for the battle against women’s cancers will be played at McMahon Stadium on Oct. 26 when Saskatchewan is in town

The playoff dates are Sunday, Nov. 10 (division semifinals), Sunday. Nov. 17 (division finals) and Sunday, Nov. 24 (the 101st Grey Cup in Regina).
