The Calgary Stampeders are bidding for a fifth consecutive victory as they travel to Regina’s Mosaic Stadium on Sunday to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.
You can catch the game at Shark Club Deerfoot Meadows as part of the Official Road Game Tweet-up festivities.
Calgary (7-4) extended its winning streak to four games last week with a 44-3 rout of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at McMahon Stadium. That matched the Stamps’ longest winning streak in 2011. Calgary’s most recent winning streak of at least five games occurred in the 2010 campaign when the Stamps won seven in a row between July 24 and Sept. 10.
The Riders (5-6) saw their two-game winning streak come to an end in Week 12 as they dropped a 28-17 decision in Montreal on Sunday. Saskatchewan is tied with the Edmonton Eskimos for third place in the West Division.
This is the third and final meeting of the season between Calgary and Saskatchewan. The Stamps have won both previous encounters — 41-38 in overtime on July 19 at McMahon and 17-10 on Aug. 25 at Mosaic. Calgary has won the seven most recent meetings with the Roughriders.
After last week becoming the 16th receiver in CFL history to record 10,000 receiving yards, Stamps slotback Nik Lewis has a chance to move further up the all-time charts. Lewis needs 66 yards to move past Earl Winfield (10,119 yards) and into 14th place on the league’s career receiving list.
The Stamps’ next home action will be on Friday, Sept. 28 when the Edmonton Eskimos provide the opposition at McMahon.
