Playing Edmonton again only four days after the Labour Day Classic proved to be pretty challenging.
It was really one of those games where you just had to suck it up and keep pushing forward, no matter how tough it was.
Football really is a game of inches, and its cliche to say every play counts, but as everybody saw, the last play of the last two games decided the outcome each time.
We’ve had a lot of reasons to feel sorry for ourselves, it seems like every game we have a key guy go down and the other night a missed field goal turned into a touchdown for Edmonton, but I feel as a team we played our butts off, we never gave up, I love this group of guys!
I feel like nothing has come easy for us, we deserve every win we get.
Friday, we might have got some love from the football gods. It wasn’t pretty, but we will take it.
It’s been a real pleasure working with Demonte since he’s come into the lineup. Junior Turner has also been great — he’s versatile enough to work on either the end or inside. Not only did he allow us to get a breather, but also he made some plays that we really needed.
Two wins in a five-day span feels great, but we can’t take our foot off the gas pedal. We still got a long season ahead of us and now we’ve got to start looking towards Winnipeg.
