Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that import defensive linemen Stevie Baggs, Donavan Robinson and Michael Stover have signed contracts with the team.

Baggs is entering his seventh CFL season and has played 62 games over his career. He got his CFL start in 2006 with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and also spent part of the 2007 season with the Bombers. He also played with the Edmonton Eskimos in 2007 before signing with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2008. He then signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2010 and remained with the Ticats through the 2011 season. He has 152 tackles, 26 sacks, 15 tackles for loss, two interceptions, eight forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries in his career.

Baggs played in the 2009 Grey Cup with the Riders and recorded two tackles and one sack. He had three two-sack games during the 2009 season. In 2010, Baggs was twice named CFL defensive player of the week and led the league with 141 fumble-return yards and two fumble-return touchdowns.

Robinson, meanwhile, signed with the NFL’s New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on Apr. 30, 2012. He signed with the New Orleans Saints on June 22, 2012 and attended the team’s training camp. Robinson played four seasons for Jackson State and was second-team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference following his junior and senior seasons (2010 and 2011).

Stover originally signed with the Stampeders on May 8, 2012 and attended the team’s training camp but was released. He spent four seasons at William & Mary and, in his senior season, was named to the Phil Steele preseason All-Colonial Athletic Association team and ended up with 50 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
