Taylor: An exciting game

That was an impressive kick on that attempted game-winning field goal at the end of the game.

If you take away the wind, it might not have been pushed a little wide. He might have hit that. But to kick the ball that deep and that far in that type of wind, that’s impressive.

Never in my mind did I think I was going to have to run backwards on that one. I was expecting to start running ahead to catch the ball and get the ball out of the end-zone.

It never crossed my mind to kick it out. You know, kicking it out, you keep the ball in play if you don’t kick it directly out of bounds. I figured, my gift is running so I figured I’m going to take my chances running the ball out, versus me stopping and trying to kick the ball out of the end-zone.

Once I got out of the end-zone, it was over. My main thing was either get out of bounds or get down and make sure I secure the ball to give ourselves the victory.

That was one of those types of plays. That’s what the CFL is all about. That was a hard-fought game, very exciting for the fans.

They say no lead is safe and that just went to prove it. You have to play a full 60 minutes until the clock is zero across the board. That’s the way you have to finish the game.

On that game-winning drive after we gave up the touchdown on an interception, that’s the benefit of having a good veteran like Kevin Glenn on your team. You need someone who is capable of leading you to victory in the clutch moment, when you’re down in the last one or two minutes of the game and you need a touchdown to go win the game.

That’s the type of quarterback he is. He’s proven it throughout this league and did an awesome job. Hats off to him, the offensive line, the running backs. We couldn’t have gotten this win without everybody. It was a full team effort, all three units across the board.

Pretty straight-forward play on the touchdown You go out there, you like your matchups and you try to take the best matchup down there at the goal line. We were able to capitalize on the play. We’ve been practising it all week and it looked good in practice and we just needed to execute the play front the line to the receivers and running backs.

With another game on Friday, what you have done to this point — with your off-season programs and in-season programs and guys doing the right thing — you have to take care of your body just for these type of games. Two games in five days — that’s a big test. There’s nothing you can do now until game time. It’s what you have done up until this point.

Hopefully, everyone has done the right thing. We have been doing the right thing as an organization and as a group of guys to take care of ourselves and keep ourselves in the best position and rely and trust what the coaches tell us to do.
