Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that non-import offensive linemen Obby Khan has signed with the team.
Khan has played 118 games over eight CFL seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Ottawa Renegades. In 2011, he played all 18 regular-season games with the Blue Bombers as well as the East Division final and Grey Cup.
Khan is a three-time recipient of the Cal Murphy Heart of a Legend Award, which goes to the Winnipeg player who best demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and dedication to the CFL and his community. Khan was Winnipeg’s nominee for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman award in 2006.
He was originally selected in the first round (second overall) by the Renegades in the 2004 CFL Draft. The Blue Bombers took Khan in the first round of the 2006 Ottawa dispersal draft.
Khan will be available to the media following practice on Tuesday. The Stamps are on the field today from 10:55 a.m. to 12:40 p.m.
Meanwhile, the Stamps have also added import offensive lineman Richard Muldrow to the practice roster. Muldrow attended minicamp with the NFL’s Oakland Raiders earlier this year.
He played two seasons (2010-11) for the University of Richmond after transferring from Rutgers. Muldrow started every game in his two seasons with the Richmond Spiders.
