The Stampeders will look to get back on track when they play host to the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Thursday, July 19. The Wild West Showdown game is presented by Nissan and kickoff at McMahon Stadium is at 7 p.m.
Calgary (1-2) is coming off a two-game, six-day Eastern road trip that featured a pair of losses by a combined total of four points. This is the Stamps’ first meeting with a West Division opponent in 2012.
The Red and White will be looking to duplicate their 2011 success against the Roughriders as the Stamps won all four games in last year’s season series.
The Roughriders are the league’s last remaining unbeaten team through three weeks of the 2012 season after recording victories over Hamilton, Edmonton and BC.
The first 2,000 fans at the gate on Thursday wearing red will receive a red horn, presented by Nissan. Watch for the Nissan Titan trucks at any stadium entrance to receive yours.
The Stampeders are also proud to announce the Octagon Nation display — a.k.a. UFC Big Rig experience — will be part of the tailgate and pre-game festivities.
The Rig will be located on the east side of McMahon Stadium from 3-6 p.m. and will feature fighter appearances, autograph signing with UFC fighters and Calgary Stampeder players and alumni, interactive booths and rare UFC memorabilia.
