Brad Sinopoli spoke to the media on Monday in Kingston, Ont., after the first practice of his second stint with the Stampeders. Here are excerpts of his comments:
Very excited. I guess I’m just grateful to have another opportunity to be out here.
On his release at the end of training camp:
It’s always disappointing when you don’t make the team but you just have to stay positive. I still worked out and I still threw and I was waiting for an opportunity and luckily, one came.
On continuing to work out and throw while waiting for a call from a team:
Coach Dave (Dickenson) told me to stay in shape, which already was in my mind. It’d be weird if I wasn’t working out and throwing the football.
On Drew Tate’s injury:
Drew and I are pretty tight so I felt bad for him, obviously, and I want him to be back healthy as fast as he can. And he was playing well, too. I liked seeing that.
Head coach/GM John Hufnagel on Sinopoli:
He’s here. It’s another opportunity for him and he’s excited about it.
Hufangel on Kevin Glenn:
Kevin’s a veteran quarterback. He’s got a lot of starts underneath his belt and he’s won a lot of football games in the CFL. He’s experienced a lot of different defences. He’s played Montreal many times throughout his career and he’ll be ready to go.
